1) What Book Are You Currently Reading?
A book about listening to God, a book about someone who escaped from a cult, the Silmarailion, The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict, and my bible. I’m also reading Voyage of the Dawn Treader to little bro. Life is busy.
2) What’s The Last Book You Finished?
Queen Elizabeth’s Wooden Teeth (and Other Historical Fallacies). It was an awesome book! (Shennachies are historians, as well as storytellers).

Non-fiction. Especially books about writing. I’ve also re-read a lot of Fantasy.

I haven’t read as many books this year as I would have liked. I think around a little over a dozen. My goal is to read as many as I can get my hands on (and as time allows. I still need to sleep and work).

Queen Elisabeth’s Wooden Teeth isn’t quite comedy, but there is often a comedic feel to it. It’s a book that goes through historical fallacies, disproving them. Historical fallacies irk me to no end, so I loved this book. (Turns out that Queen Elisabeth didn’t have wooden teeth after all. They used plugs of rolled cloth to fill tooth gaps in the sixteenth century.)

Queen Elizabeth’s Wooden Teeth sounds intriguing. For some reason, it reminds me of a book I paged through at a cabin we vacationed in last summer… It wasn’t about historical fallacies at all, but the origins behind common idioms. (See? I don’t know why one reminded me of the other. XD)

I’m always slightly awed by those who consume so much nonfiction. I’ve never been able to bring myself to read it that copiously, but there’s so much to learn from it…
I highly approve of #9. Haven’t read the first book in that list, but all the others are ones I want to get my hands on someday too.
AND POISON CROWN. OH, I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL IT’S PUBLISHED. I also really want to read the Wingfeather Saga now. 🙂
I love that you mentioned Mennonite Girls Can Cook. My mom visits their blog often and gets quite a few recipes from them! Mennonite food is delicious indeed.

That book about idiom origins sounds like something I’d enjoy. I suppose it ties in with the historical fallacies one because they are both books about random and commonly misunderstood information.
I don’t think Crosswinds is a well known book. But it has steampunk elements and dinosaur-like creatures, so I had to put it up there.
Mennonite food is so good- all those cabbage rolls and fritters!

Although I haven’t read the books in a few years, I recently did an assignment about the last Anne Of Green Gables book, and it reminded me of why I love them so much. Have you read anything else by L.M. Montgomery? My personal favourites are Jane Of Lantern Hill, and Kilmeny Of The Orchard. They’re amazing. Definitely try and read them if you haven’t already.

Rilla of Ingleside was such a beautiful, bittersweet book! I’ve read A Tangled Web, but not many other L.M. Montgomery books. I think I’ll try Kilmeny of the Orchard sometime.

Are you enjoying the Silmarillion? I haven't read any Tolkien apart from, obviously, LOTR. As for Tales of Goldstone Wood, you and Tracey between you have made me really want to read them!
I really need to reread The Hiding Place.

So far it’s taking me a long time to read the Silmarillion. I save it for the quieter moments on my coffee and lunch break. I haven’t even started the story yet. I’m just reading Tolkien’s letter to the editor, which they put in there. It’s interesting, actually.
